DIRECTIONS TO WOLF CREEK NUCLEAR OPERATING CORPORATION/WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION FROM KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MCI)
The City Route - Via I-635 - Take I-29 South toward Kansas City MO approximately 10.5 miles to I-635.
Take I-635 South approximately 12.8 miles to I-35, Exit 231, exit toward Wichita KS (I-35 South).
The Country Route - Via I-435 - Alternate route to I-35, depending upon traffic and highway construction -
Take I-29 North toward St Joseph MO approximately 3.5 miles.
Take I-435 approximately 31.2 miles to I-35, Exit 33, exit toward Wichita KS (I-35 South).
Take I-35 South toward Wichita KS approximately 70 miles to Exit #155, Burlington/Lyndon (also known as BETO Junction).
Take US 75 South toward Burlington for approximately 9 miles. The Coffey County Airport will be on your left and you should be able to see the Wolf Creek containment dome to your left front. Approximately 2 miles South of the airport, turn left (East) on 17th Road toward Sharpe KS. The sign says Wolf Creek Power Plant. (Burlington KS is 7 miles south on US 75 from this point) The Dwight D. Eisenhower Learning Center (Wolf Creek Training Center), 1675 Milo Lane NE, is on your right about 1 mile from US 75. 17th Road then crosses the Wolf Creek cooling lake and the road curves to the right (South). The road name changes from 17th Road to Oxen Lane NE. The plant address is 1550 Oxen Lane NE. The Wolf Creek gate is approximately 2 miles South of the curve. You must STOP at the Gate for authorization to enter. A picture ID will be required. Follow the Outage Processing signs to the Ron Evans Outage Processing Center - Access Screening (1st right to parking lot, then to far end), or the Visitor signs to the main plant entrance in the Charles E. Whittaker Security Building.
Total travel time from Kansas City International Airport to WCGS is approximately 2 hours.
DIRECTIONS TO WOLF CREEK FROM OTTAWA, KANSAS To Wolf Creek, take I-35 South toward Emporia/Wichita approximately 28 miles to the Burlington/Lyndon Exit, Exit #155 (US 75), and follow the directions above. Travel time is about 50 minutes.
DIRECTIONS TO WOLF CREEK FROM TOPEKA, KANSAS
Take US 75 South from Topeka KS to I-35, BETO Junction, approximately 40 miles; follow US 75 South to plant site. Travel time is about 1 hour.
DIRECTIONS TO WOLF CREEK FROM WICHITA, KANSAS
Take l-35/Kansas Turnpike North to Emporia; take I-35 North toward Kansas City to US 75, Exit #155, BETO Junction. US 75 South to plant site. Travel time is about 2.5 hours.
TO WOLF CREEK FROM EMPORIA, KANSAS:
Take I-35 North (toward Kansas City) for about 27 miles to Exit #155, Buriington/Lyndon (also known as BETO Junction). Turn right (South) on US 75 to plant site. Travel time is about 50 minutes.
