For all folks coming to LaSalle’s Outage, first let me say Thank you.  My name is Liz Roberts and I will am the Bartlett Site Coordinator. The report time is 0630 for your first day.  We will be at the Services and Training Center (STC) for inprocessing.  The address is 36400 S. Essex Road  Wilmington, IL 60481.  The address for the plant is 2601 N. 21st Road Marseilles, Il  61341.

As you arrive, you will pick up a site inprocessing folder and will be directed to your first room assignment. In this folder, look for the purple training schedule.  This will list all of your classes required prior to badging. Do not be late to classes; no late entries are accepted and you will have to re-schedule.  This will delay badging.

I will be in the cafeteria with folders containing Bartlett inprocessing paperwork.  Please stop by prior to going to your first room. Most of our folks will have FFD scheduled right away, so plan accordingly.  If you are going to be late, please call.  I will have my cell phone and will check messages regularly.  My number is 815-790-1552.  Reception is limited within the building.

The outage is scheduled to begin February 13, 2012.  The outage duration is approx. 24 days. We will start staffing up the end of January/beginning of February and layoffs will begin 2/28 running thru 3/11. During the outage we will work seven twelve’s (84 hours per week). Prior to the outage we will work five eight’s (40 hours per week) with limited overtime.

If you have any questions not addressed on the blog, please feel free to call or email me.  My email address is elizabeth.roberts@exeloncorp.com and my office phone is 815-415-4374.

Shift Preference
If you have a compelling shift preference, please email me right away as I am currently developing the outage org chart.
My email address is elizabeth.roberts@exeloncorp.com  If you do not contact me prior to arriving, there is a good chance I will not be able to change your shift once you get here.
Thanks!
About LaSalle

LaSalle County Generating Station, located in rural LaSalle County in Northern Illinois, is a two-unit nuclear generating facility capable of generating 1,140 net megawatts per unit. Together the units can produce enough power to support the electricity needs of over two million average American homes.

Its Units 1 and 2 began commercial operation in August 1982 and April 1984, respectively. Both of LaSalle's units are boiling water reactors designed by General Electric. The units are cooled with water from a 2,058-acre man-made lake, which is also a popular fishery managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Details
Important:
You need 2 forms of ID. One must be a valid government issued photo ID (Valid {NOT EXPIRED} Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport), and the other should be your social security card, or ORIGINAL birth certificate. Senior HP techs must take the Nuclear Utilities Fundamentals Exam (NUF) and pass with a grade of 80% or better, unless you are either an NRRPT “active participant”, or have taken the NUF within the past 4 years and passed with 80%. NRRPT and prior test results must be verified, so bring your NRRPT certificate with you, or know where and when you last passed the NUF, in case it is not recorded in PADS. If we cannot verify your status, you will be required to take the test about midweek.  Juniors will be required to take a theory exam.  Study material can be found at www.westrain.org  Study sections RP-3 and RP-5.
Miscellaneous:
Hard hats and safety glasses are available, however if you have your own favorites, they are acceptable as long as they meet ANSI standards.  If you have been issued hardhats at a previous outage, please bring it with you.  No shortpants are allowed in training.  You must have on longpants and a sleeved shirt. Composite toe or Steel toe shoes are required. Work shoes must be worn during in-processing. Scrubs are provided on-site.  Bank runs and other off-site errands will be very hard to accommodate during the first couple days of training, especially for non-returnees, as the in-processing schedule for those days is fairly tight.
